Rushing Offense Grade: C

The Giants rushing offense looked to be getting on track in recent weeks. They had good showings against the Cincinnati Bengals and Chicago Bears but were unable to get anything going against the Browns.

Altogether the Giants ran for 104 yards on 27 carries. But, they did little to bleed the clock at the end of the game. The longest run of the afternoon didn’t even come from a running back. It was actually from Sterling Shepard on an end-around. Shepard took the ball 22 yards on his only touch of the afternoon and provided the best run of the game for either team.

Jennings didn’t dominate touches as much this time around. He received 15 carries and turned it into 55 yards, averaging 3.7 yards per carry. It is an improvement on the Giants season total, but not the greatest of numbers. Paul Perkins was ineffective with his touches as well. He managed only 29 yards on nine carries.

The Giants have to find a way to jump start this run game. If it means getting wide receivers involved more in gadget plays than so be it. They need to figure out how to move the chains without relying solely on the arm of Eli Manning.
