New York Knicks vs Charlotte Hornets: 5 Players To Watch In Home-And-Home
Brandon Jennings
Jennings looked to be a steal in free agency. The Knicks were able to land him with a one-year, $5 million deal after completing a trade for Derrick Rose. Jennings knew his role coming in as the sixth man and he has thrived thus far.
Jennings is the engine that makes the Knicks bench go. He brings a ton of energy to the game and his flashy playing style gets the crowd going. He has also proven that he can lead the offense when he is on the court and showcases his playmaking abilities on a nightly basis.
Despite coming off the bench in every game he has played in the regular season Jennings has outstanding passing numbers. He is averaging 5.2 assists in 21.5 minutes per game, putting him on pace for career-highs in assists per 36 minutes and per 100 possessions. His 33.6 assist percentage is ninth in the NBA this season, ahead of guys such as Mike Conley, Rajon Rondo, and Isaiah Thomas.
Jennings is still an inefficient scorer, making 37.2 percent of his shots, but he more than makes up for it with his performance as a playmaker. Jennings has the team going whenever he is on the court and has so far thrived in his role as the sixth man.
