New York Giants vs Cleveland Browns: 5 Players To Watch
Collis is enjoying a breakout season in his sophomore campaign with the Giants. After struggling in some aspects as a rookie Collins came back improved across the board and now is a legitimate playmaker and difference maker at the back end of the Giants defense.
Collins has always been productive against the run. He had 112 last season and is on pace for another big season there with 80 thus far. Where he has made the biggest stride is in pass defense. He is still not going to be a shutdown player shadowing a player in the slot but he is much improved.
He is riding a four-game interception streak, getting all five of his interceptions on the season in that span. He also has 10 passes defended after having only nine all of last season. He has made some big strides in that aspect of his game and it is a big reason why the Giants defense has improved as much as it has.
There are people that believe Collins is a legitimate candidate for not only Defensive Player of the Year but MVP of the league. His stats are comparable to when Ed Reed won the award, as he is putting together one of the best seasons that a safety has ever had.

McCown is a turnover machine so there is a good chance that Collins can pad his stats this weekend. He wasn’t part of the Giants overhaul in free agency but his improvement is welcomed all the same. This is as good a chance as any for Collins to rack up some counting stats.
