Coaching Staff Grade: A+

There is no doubting that it was a rough first half for the Giants. They were unable to get any traction while the Bears were moving the ball with ease and slowing down the Giants. One of the most important things in coaching to do is to make adjustments, and that is exactly what the Giants coaching staff did against Chicago.

Ben McAdoo has come under fire for times for being too conservative at times. That is no longer an accurate description after the last two weeks. The biggest play of the game against the Bengals was a fourth down attempt that the Giants converted into a touchdown and game-winning score. Against the Bears, the Giants were at it again with fourth down attempts.

The Giants were 2-for-2 on fourth down against the Bears, as McAdoo has full trust in his offense to get the job done. It helped the Giants get their first two scores of the game as McAdoo left his offense on the field on two fourth-and-two attempts.

In addition to the gutsy calls by McAdoo, Steve Spagnuolo drew things up in the second half to get things going on defense. The defense did a total 180 after coming out of the locker room and a big part of that has to be adjustments and scheme changes from the defensive side of the ball. Whatever it was that they found worked as the Giants shut the Bears down the final two-quarters.

The coaching staff got the job done this week against the Bears. Now they will move on to game planning for the 0-10 Cleveland Browns; a more difficult task than it seems because they do not want to give the Browns their first win of the season.
