Great pressure

One of the keys to the Giants turnaround in the second half was the great pressure that they were able to create from their pass rush. Against the Bengals last week, we began to see the Giants defensive line really make some strides, and that continued against the Bears.

Jason Pierre-Paul led the way for the defense on Sunday, as he totaled 2.5 sacks on Sunday. Coming into the game, Pierre-Paul had just 1.5 sacks all season, as it was great to see him get to the quarterback and finish him off.

In addition to Pierre-Paul having a good game, Olivier Vernon was also able to sack Jay Cutler in the win. The sack against the Bears was the third straight game that Vernon was able to record a sack for the Giants.

Seeing this dynamic duo of the Giants cause pressure on opposing quarterbacks is a welcomed sight for the Giants. The combination of Pierre-Paul and Vernon has the capability to be one of the best in the league, and they certainly played like it against the Bears.

If the Giants are going to continue to play well on defense, they will need Pierre-Paul and Vernon to continue to play at the high level that they are right now.
