Baltimore Orioles

Trading with a team within your own division is weird to see. But the Orioles would make for a great match for Gardner given his skill set.

The Orioles could be in the market for an outfielder this offseason. Mark Trumbo is set to be a free agent and may not be retained. While Gardner does not bring the power that Trumbo does, he would make up for the difference with his far superior defense in the outfield. Gardner would also give the Orioles a legitimate leadoff man.

The Orioles failed to find a consistent contributor to set the table and lead the offense. Gardner would also give the Orioles a player that can create something on the basepaths. Last season the Orioles finished last in stolen bases with only 19 the whole season, getting caught 13 times. Last season alone Gardner had 16 stolen bases, getting caught four times.

Right now the Orioles only have Hyun Soo Kim and Nolan Reimold on the depth chart behind Adam Jones. If they do not like the options in free agency, they could turn to the trade market and Gardner should be a player they look into.
