Detroit Pistons vs New York Knicks: 5 Things To Watch For
Bench Play
This was an area that the Pistons won convincingly in the first matchup and was a key to the victory. The second unit has been a problem for the Knicks throughout the season and it was against the Pistons as well.
In the first matchup, all four players on the Pistons bench registered a positive plus/minus ratio. The highest was only +5 with a low of +2, but that was better than any number that a Knicks player had. The best a Knicks bench player registered was -2, with Brandon Jennings having the worst mark at -12.
Jennings is a player that the Knicks rely heavily on and he will have to have a better night this time around. He scored 12 points but the Knicks were negative with him on the court. You can also count on the Knicks using Willy Hernangomez and Justin Holiday more this time around.
Hernangomez played only five minutes against the Pistons the last time out and Holiday played 12. Both have come on as late as solid options for Hornacek off the bench and should see minutes in the high-teens tonight.

Holiday has become an integral part of the rotation on the wing. He is the second best perimeter defender on the team and can shoot it from deep. He will be called upon more to help Courtney Lee slow down Caldwell-Pope and Harris.
