Detroit Pistons vs New York Knicks: 5 Things To Watch For
How Much Joakim Noah Will We See?
Against the Dallas Mavericks, Jeff Hornacek made a decision to go small and match Dallas. Dallas, who was without Dirk Nowitzki, played only one big man on the court for most of the game.
It gave the Knicks problems in the first half as they were able to take advantage of Joakim Noah being on the perimeter. Hornacek adjusted and we saw Noah sit the whole second half and Kyle O’Quinn play only in garbage time. What will we see against the Pistons?
Noah will remain in the starting lineup and should see more playing time tonight. Andre Drummond is a difference maker and Noah will probably play whenever he is in the game. The Pistons also have Aron Baynes off the bench, so there is a big man for Noah to defend virtually at all times.
It is something to keep an eye on as the Knicks played very well with Kristaps Porzingis at center. Porzingis cannot compete with Drummond on the inside, but if they use someone such as Morris or Jon Leuer in the middle he could hang.
