New York Giants Team Grades vs Cincinnati Bengals
Passing Defense: A-
The Giants made things rough for Andy Dalton virtually all night. The Bengals caught the Giants with an exotic look on their first drive, as Tyler Eifert had a 71-yard catch-and-run from the tackle spot. Outside of that, the Giants shut down the Bengals passing game.
Dalton finished the game 16-of-29 for 204 yards with one touchdown and one interception. If you take out that 71-yard reception by Eifert this was another Dalton letdown in a primetime spot. The Giants did well to contain A.J. Green, holding him to seven receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown.
The Giants were able to generate a pass rush all evening, picking up three sacks and seven quarterback hits. Jason Pierre-Paul and Olivier Vernon were terrors on the outside with Johnathan Hankins and Damon Harrison rushing from the inside. They shuffled their line all around and confused Dalton with all of the different looks.
Landon Collins also continued his breakout season. He picked off Dalton for his fourth interception of the season to lead the team. Rookie Robert Thomas registered his first sack of his career tonight as well.
