New York Giants Team Grades vs Cincinnati Bengals
Rushing Offense: A-
The Giants came into the game as the worst rushing offense in the NFL. It looked like it would be much of the same through most of the game. But, when the Giants needed to get things going on the ground they were able to succeed and find room.
The much maligned Rashad Jennings finished the game very strong. He had 38 yards on the final drive of the game, icing away a Giants victory. It was an impressive finish for Jennings as the running game was nonexistent virtually the first three-quarters of the game.
Jennings finished the game with 87 yards on 15 carries, averaging 5.8 yards per carry. It was his best yards per carry performance on the season and he picked a good time to deliver it. He was the clear-cut preferred back tonight for the Giants in crunch time.
Rookie Paul Perkins was worked in as well, but once again struggled to find success. He received nine carries for 31 yards, averaging 3.4 yards per carry. Even Eli Manning ran for a first down tonight, scrambling in the first half and finish the game with four rushing yards.
With how much the Giants have struggled this season on the ground this was a good performance to see. If they can generate anything close to this on a consistent basis it will help take the team to the next level.
