Linebackers: B+

Linebacker has been a position the Giants have seemingly ignored under Jerry Reese. Outside of Antonio Pierce, the Giants have been unable to find a leader in the middle. They tried with Jon Beason but he was injured too often to have a positive impact. They signed another former Washington Redskins linebacker in Keenan Robinson and things have paid off.

Robinson has brought some leadership to the second line of the Giants defense and sideline-to-sideline ability. He and Jonathan Casillas fly around the field and are capable of playing the run or the pass. It is a skill you need in today’s NFL with so many teams spreading things out offensively.

The Giants would love to get some more pressure on the quarterback from Devon Kennard. He has shown an ability to get to the quarterback in the past but needs to find more consistency.

This unit doesn’t have a superstar or household name but they get the job done. They struggle at times still defending the middle of the field; tight ends and slot receivers have found some success. But it is not as brutal as years past as the days of watching someone such as Uani Unga out of position look to be gone.
