Passing Defense Grade: A

The Giants pass defense has been arguably the best part of this team all season and it was no different against the Eagles. The defense helped spot the team a 14-0 lead quickly as they intercepted Carson Wentz twice. Landon Collins had the first one, his third of the season and Andrew Adams followed it up with his first career interception on the next drive.

The Giants may have allowed a career-high 364 yards to Wentz, but it was a strong performance by the secondary. He didn’t throw any touchdowns as the Giants kept him uncomfortable throughout the afternoon. They registered two sacks and hit him seven times as they finally generated some pressure.

Collins and Olivier Vernon picked up the sacks, while Jason Pierre-Paul had two quarterback hits. If the front can continue generating pressure good things will happen to them. There are playmakers in the secondary that are waiting to take advantage of quarterbacks making mistakes while under pressure.

Janoris Jenkins just missed another interception late in the game when Wentz over shot his intended receiver; it almost looked like he was targeting Jenkins. He was called for a penalty in the red zone but once again had a solid performance.

The one area the Giants need to clean up still is the middle of the field. Tight ends Zach Ertz and Trey Burton were left open for long gains too often. Slot man Jordan Matthews also had a good game with six receptions for 88 yards.
