Rushing Offense Grade: F

This is a dumpster fire for the Giants currently. They have no semblance of a running game and there doesn’t look to be a change coming in the near future. The loss of left guard Justin Pugh won’t make things any easier as the Giants run game was struggling with him; without him, things could get really ugly.

The Giants are last in the NFL in rushing yards with 546, averaging the second least yards per carry at 3.2 and with the second least attempts at 171. Against the Eagles, the Giants managed to lower that against the Eagles averaging only 2.3 yards per carry.

This was the most work Paul Perkins got all season as he and Rashad Jennings split carries evenly. Both had 11 rushes and three receptions with Perkins totaling 47 yards and Jennings 39. That will not get the job done and the Giants have to figure something out.

Right now their attempt at running the ball is spread everyone out and try a run up the middle. The Giants have no power running game with tight ends masquerading as fullbacks in some formations. Ben McAdoo has to manufacture something in the running game; if the Giants can just get to 3.5-4.0 yards per carry it will open up so much more in the offense in the way of play action passing.
