Cornerbacks

Grade: D-

This has been arguably the most disappointing unit for the Jets this season. They are paying Darrelle Revis big money and landed Buster Skrine last offseason as a free agent. Marcus Williams has shown flashes previously so there was some hope for this unit coming into the season.

That hope has dissipated, as the cornerbacks have struggled mightily this season. Revis is no longer a shutdown corner as teams are actually going after him. The 0-8 Cleveland Browns attacked Revis relentlessly and had success, as Terrelle Pryor had six receptions for 101 yards. On the afternoon, Revis allowed 10 receptions for 122 yards. It could have been a lot worse.had Josh McCown and Pryor been able to connect on a couple deep shots.

With Revis struggling so mightily, this unit has taken a hit overall. Revis has not done himself any favors, saying things like his body is breaking down and he wasn’t in the greatest condition. It has resulted in a bad season thus far from Revis as he is bringing down the rest of the unit with him.

Williams leads the unit with two interceptions and six passes defended. Overall, this unit has hurt the team immensely the first eight games of the season.
