Safety
Grade: B+
Safety has been a bright spot for the Jets. Calvin Pryor looks to be taking steps forward and Marcus Gilchrist has been good next to him. Both players had positive showings in 2015 and have built off of that in 2016.
Pryor leads the team in tackles with 33. He has two tackles for loss and two passes defended as he is becoming a well-rounded player at the back end of the Jets defense.Gilchrist is second on the team in tackles with 32. He has been a playmaker, intercepting two passes and forcing a fumble.
The two play well off each other and are building blocks for the Jets as Pryor is 24 years old and Gilchrist is 27. Pryor is playing like a first round pick and Gilchrist is earning his contract he received in free agency last season.
