The New York Knicks ended their preseason on a high note, defeating the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center.

111. 147. 116. 27. Final

The New York Knicks finished up their preseason with a victory over the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center. With the win, the Knicks finished the preseason with a 4-2 record. The Nets, who won their first preseason game, finishes the preseason on a low note, losing their final five games.

Tonight was a dry run for the regular season for the Knicks, as head coach Jeff Hornacek wanted to use a rotation he may see during the regular season. It was a preseason game though, so he did want to get everyone a chance to play, but he stuck to his rotation in the early going.

If it was any indication for the regular season, the first players off the Knicks bench will be Brandon Jennings, Lance Thomas, and Kyle O’Quinn. Jennings had been starting in place of Derrick Rose, but with his role during the regular season being as the sixth man, Hornacek had him come off the bench in the dry run.

Thomas is the top wing player off the bench for the Knicks, while it looks like the veteran O’Quinn has beaten out the youngsters for the first big man spot off the bench. Willy Hernangomez would close the game out for the Knicks, so it looks as if he is ahead of Marshall Plumlee, who didn’t get into the game tonight.

More from Brooklyn Nets

It could be an indication of who has an inside track to the final roster. Maurice Ndour played in the first half as well, so his roster spot looks safer than others. The Knicks played 13 players tonight, and we know Rose will be No.14. Someone will be left off the final roster that is deserving of a spot, as Chasson Randle and Lou Amundson are also in the mix.

No one who stepped on the court tonight hurt their chances, so the Knicks coaching staff and front office will have some tough decisions to make on cut down day.

Stars Of The Game

SG Courntey Lee, Knicks — Lee has had his struggles this preseason, but he finished strong. Tonight against the Nets he finished with 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field. He also added five rebounds, two assists and two steals for a solid stat line. He also finished with the highest plus-minus ratio with a +15.

PG Jeremy Lin, Nets — Lin struggled with turnovers all evening, giving the ball away eight times. But, he still gave the Knicks a problem despite those struggles. He had a game-high 24 points with 10 assists and two steals. He made a living at the foul line, making 10-of-13 free throws.

C Joakim Noah, Knicks — Noah looks to be rounding into shape after an injury sidelined him for the beginning of the preseason. He was a sparkplug offensively in the early going, pacing the Knicks in scoring at the beginning of the game. Overall he finished with a strong line of 12 points, six rebounds, three assists, and one block.
