Philadelphia Eagles

After a red-hot start, the Eagles and Wentz have cooled off a bit. The Eagles’ rookie quarterback threw his first interception against the Lions in Week 5. As previously mentioned, he didn’t throw a touchdown pass last week.

It’s not panic time in Philadelphia. Wentz will experience growing pains and rough patches as he develops through the weeks. Unfortunately, the Eagles will run into a defensive buzz saw at home in a matchup with the undefeated Vikings. Then, they go on the road for two divisional contests at Dallas and New York.

If the Eagles can limit the next few opponents to fewer than 300 total yards, the offense should have opportunities to pull out late victories during a tough stretch.

Cornerback Leodis McKelvin will probably return to action in Week 7, per Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Zach Berman:

McKelvin’s presence adds another hurdle for Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford to throw over on Sunday. Nonetheless, the Eagles defense can’t surrender 200-plus yards on the ground and expect to win football games. Early in the season, the defense did a great job at limiting the opponent’s scoring opportunities and shortening the field for the offense.

Last Game: 10/16 Redskins 27-20 (Loss)
Next Game: 10/23 at Minnesota
