The New York Giants were able to snap their three-game losing streak, defeating the Baltimore Ravens at MetLife Stadium.

31. 23. 26. Final. 27

It wasn’t easy, but the New York Giants were able to finally snap their losing streak Sunday afternoon. The Giants defeated the visiting Baltimore Ravens, overcoming an extremely slow start and multiple turnovers.

The Giants started the game looking like they were stuck in the mud. The Ravens took an early 10-0 lead as the Giants didn’t get a first down until their fourth drive of the game; they started the game with a fumble and then two-and-outs.

The Giants gained only 37 yards their first four drives of the game, but were able to get things going after that. Odell Beckham Jr. had an injury scare, leaving the game for a few plays because of a hip pointer. Oddly enough, his exit is what the Giants needed to get going as Eli Manning and company began to pick things up once Beckham Jr. went to the locker room.

The Giants orchestrated an 80-yard touchdown drive finished off with a 24-yard touchdown reception by Roger Lewis Jr. The Giants took the momentum into halftime and kicked a field goal after the half to tie the game.

The second half went back and forth, as the Ravens and Giants exchanged the lead four times. The referees didn’t help the Giants at all, making a questionable call to set the Ravens up for their go-ahead touchdown with just over two minutes remaining in the game.

The Giants would take the lead on a fourth down catch-and-run by Beckham, putting their defense back on the field to hold the game. They didn’t make it easy, as the Giants committed a bad roughing the passer penalty to keep the drive alive. But, they were ultimately able to hold on for the win, moving back to .500 on the season.

Three Stars

WR Odell Beckham Jr., Giants — Beckham Jr. destroyed the Ravens secondary this afternoon. Beckham reeled in eight receptions for 222 yards and two touchdowns as the Ravens had no answer for him. He looks to be back on track after the media blew his early season struggles and sideline antics out of the water. It was nice to see him bounce back well from an early game fumble.

S Landon Collins, Giants — Collins is criticized for his coverage skills, but when the Giants get him near the line of scrimmage he makes things happen. He was afforded that opportunity today and made the most of it. Collins finished the game with a team-high 12 tackles, two of which were for a loss, along with one sack and one quarterback hit. If the Giants can get him near the line of scrimmage in the run game he will continue to find success.

LB Terrell Suggs, Ravens — With Elvis Dumervil sidelined, the Ravens were unable to get much pressure on Eli Manning throughout the afternoon. The only player who was able to generate pressure was Suggs. Suggs was the only Raven to hit Manning all afternoon, as he registered the only sack and two quarterback hits for the Ravens defense on the afternoon.
