Buster Posey

There aren’t many Giants players that have had success against Noah Syndergaard; there aren’t many hits when a pitcher is allowing a team to hit .159 against him. Only five players on the Giants roster even have hits against the Syndergaard, as the roster has 51 at-bats with only nine hits.

Three of those hits are from their all-world catcher Buster Posey. Posey has gone 3-for-6 against Syndergaard in his career, the most successful of the Giants group. Posey’s season stats are a little below what he normally produces, but he looked to be getting things going at the end of the season.

Posey had a hit in seven of his last nine games in the regular season with 11 RBI over that time span. The Giants are difficult enough to deal with, but if the Mets are getting Posey in the middle of a hot streak they could be in trouble.

It will be a fun battle each time that Posey and Syndergaard face off tonight. With the added pressure of it being a postseason matchup, seeing two of the best players at their respective crafts going at it is a treat for fans.
