The New York Mets ended the regular season as one of the hottest teams in baseball. As a result, they are hosting the National League Wild Card game at Citi Field. The Mets will be hosting the San Francisco Giants, who will look to continue their success in even numbered years.

This is the second consecutive season that the Mets are in the postseason, missing the playoffs for eight consecutive seasons before that. The Giants missed the postseason in 2015 and are back for the first time since defeating the Kansas City Royals for the World Series in 2014.

On the line tonight is a trip to take on the owners of the best record in baseball, the Chicago Cubs, in the National League Divisional Series. Both teams know what it takes to have success in the postseason, as they have represented the National League in the World Series the last two years.

Who will it be taking on the Cubs starting Friday night? In a one-game playoff, it is truly a toss up as anything can happen. Both teams will be sending their respective aces to the mound in what should be a great pitching matchup between Noah Syndergaard and Madison Bumgarner.

They will be two of the players to watch during the game tonight. They will have a big hand in the outcome of the game tonight, but there are other players that will play major roles in the outcome of the game as well.
