Giants Outrush Redskins on the Ground

Overall, the Redskins rank No. 25 in rushing yards, and the Giants rank No. 20. Nonetheless, New York fields a far better run defense, which lists No. 4 compared to the Redskins at No. 27. Despite Jennings’ hand injury, he should find daylight on the ground against Washington’s porous front seven.

Though it won’t look pretty, Jennings and Shane Vereen should compile more yards than Redskins running back Matt Jones, who’s only averaging 10 carries per game. He’ll also deal with defensive tackles Damon Harrison and Johnathan Hankins plugging the middle.

The Redskins have relied heavily on the passing attack through the first two contests and shown a lack of commitment to the ground attack. The Giants moved the ball at a snail’s pace on the ground, 3.2 yards per carry, but they’ve displayed an effort to include the rushing offense with 56 attempts.

When matched against Washington’s susceptible defense, the ball-carriers should eclipse four yards per carry.
