The New York Giants have gotten off to a good start this season, defeating the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints. There are still doubters of the Giants, but they could begin proving them wrong again this week against the Washington Redskins.

While the Redskins have struggled to start the season, going 0-2, this is a big game for the Giants. The Redskins are experiencing some dysfunctionality and reported in-fighting, but they are the defending NFC East champions. That means until they are unseated, they are still the defending champions, which means a victory over them would be solid.

It would go a long way for the Giants to knock off the Redskins this weekend; not only would they remain undefeated at 3-0, they would put the Redskins in a massive hole at 0-3. Divisional games always have a little more intensity to them, as rivalries are built and the blood boils a little hotter.

Things will be no different this time when the Giants and Redskins face off at MetLife Stadium. Both teams have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, making for an intriguing matchup. The Giants have a lot to prove still as people underestimate their 2-0 record. The Redskins want to show that last season wasn’t a fluke and the 0-2 start is just a blip on the radar.

For both teams to accomplish those goals, they will need certain players to step up on Sunday afternoon. Here are five players to watch for when the Giants and Redskins kick off their game in Week 3.
