Special Teams Grade: A

The Giants special teams had a strong showing against the Saints. They were a big reason for the victory, as Johnathan Hankins blocked a field goal attempt by the Saints which was returned for a touchdown by Janoris Jenkins; it was the only touchdown of the game for the Giants.

Brad Wing had a strong afternoon punting, as he had only two attempts but made the most of them. He averaged 58 yards per punt, with a long of 63. There wasn’t much of anything in the return game, as Dwayne Harris had only one punt return for nine yards. The only kick return was by Mark Herzlich on a squib kick for two yards.

Josh Brown made his return from a one-game suspension and knocked through the game-winning kick from 23-yards away. He also knocked in kicks from 19 and 48 yards away, bouncing back from a 53-yard miss earlier in the game. It was a good debut for Brown, who also helped limit the Saints to only 24 yards on two kick returns.

It was a strong afternoon from the Giants special teams, as they had as big a part in the win tonight as any unit on the team.
