Week 2 will be an early shot at redemption for Ryan Fitzpatrick. This offseason, Fitzpatrick had to deal with a long contract negotiation, and that might have partially been caused by his inability to beat the Bills.

In 2015, the Bills were not that great of a team. However, they were able to beat the Jets twice and that cost them a playoff spot. If Fitzpatrick was able to get the Jets into the playoffs last season, his offseason would have likely gone much different.

However, Fitzpatrick struggling against the Bills shouldn’t come up as all that much of a shock. Throughout his, career Fitzpatrick has struggled against teams coached by Rex Ryan, a trend that continued last season.

In Week 1, Fitzpatrick didn’t do all that well against the Bengals, as his timing was a bit off. In a very important game against the Bills, the Jets need Fitzpatrick to be sharp so they can avoid a 0-2 start. If Fitzpatrick struggles against his former team again, the Jets will have a hard time winning.
