After the dominant showing by the Jets’ defensive line against the Bengals, expectations are high heading into Week 2. While the Jets won’t sack Tyrod Taylor seven times in all likelihood, it is important to pressure him.

Unlike Dalton, Taylor will likely be able to use his mobility to cause some problems for the Jets pass rush. Instead of pinning their ears back and going at him, the Jets will have to be focused on their containment.

The addition of defensive end Sheldon Richardson should certainly help with that. Due to Richardson being eligible to play in Week 2, Todd Bowles can get even more creative on defense. Since Richardson is back, we might see the Jets in more of a 4-3 defense, as Leonard Williams can slide to defensive tackle.

Due to Muhammad Wilkerson being questionable with a toe injury, Richardson playing is crucial for the Jets. Even if Wilkerson does play, having a fresh Richardson to help rotate the defensive line on a short will be very helpful.
