– Couldn’t stop Green

The biggest takeaway from the game is without a doubt the struggles of Darrelle Revis. Coming into the season, Revis has had a target on him for possibly being on the decline. The Bengals were clearly not afraid to test him, and they look smart for doing it.

To the defense of Revis, A.J. Green is one of the best wide receivers in football. While great receivers will usually find a way to get the ball in their hands, the 180 receiving yards is unacceptable.

The Jets and Revis being unable to stop Green is not going to quiet down the critics that believe that Revis is done. While it is certainly possible that it could have just been a bad day for Revis to start the season, people won’t forget some of the struggles he had at the end of the season in 2015 against elite receivers.

If Revis is indeed on the decline, the Jets will suddenly have a major problem in their secondary. Furthermore, Revis is being paid a lot of money to shut down the best wide receiver on the opposing team. So far in 2016, he hasn’t done that.
