Week 1: At Dallas Cowboys

It’s the Giants’ rookie head coach on one side and the Cowboys’ rookie quarterback on the other side. Fortunately for the Giants, coaches direct traffic and the players decide the outcome with the exception of poor clock management.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott looked impressive throughout the preseason, but Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will disguise coverages and force the rookie into some early mistakes. The Giants offense should be able to capitalize and score on short fields.

Prediction: Win

Score: Giants 31, Cowboys 21

Record: 1-0

Week 2: Vs. New Orleans Saints

Remember last year’s 52-49 score-a-thon between these teams in Week 8? Both teams will go on scoring runs throughout this contest at the Meadowlands, but the Giants’ improved defense keeps the Saints out of the end zone on a few drives.

New Orleans lost rookie defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins with a broken fibula and second-year defensive lineman Hau’oli Kikaha for the entire year with an ACL injury. The Giants take advantage of the holes within the Saints’ front seven and earn another victory.

Prediction: Win

Score: Giants 35, Saints 28

Record: 2-0
