The Giants will not make the playoffs

The NFC East looks bad once again this year, leaving the division wide open for any team to seize the opportunity. The always-overhyped Cowboys lost Tony Romo to an injury, while the Eagles are rebuilding. The Redskins improved by signing Josh Norman, but their success hinges on how good Kirk Cousins really is. I don’t think any team is currently good enough to run away with the division, so the NFC East is once again up for grabs.

If the Giants had a better offensive line, their offense could probably carry them to the playoffs this year. Because this is not the case, the Redskins will probably be handed the division once again on a silver platter. Of course, I don’t think any team will clinch the NFC East until Week 16 or 17, leaving the Giants with a false hope that they can make the playoffs.

I think the Giants will finish 7-9 this season, resulting in another disappointing year without a playoff berth. Owner John Mara will finally part ways with Reese, and the Giants will be looking for a new general manager next season. Fans will come to realize that Tom Coughlin was not the main problem last year, and will wish that he was still coaching the team.

McAdoo will show us that he is a rookie coach and make mistakes, some which will cost them games. The defense will be better than last year but still not be good enough. The offense might play close to the same level as it did last year, but Manning will not get enough time in the pocket to find open receivers.

I hope I’m wrong, but the team is banking on all of their risky moves to pay off this year. That will prove to be too much to ask for, and the team will once again be forced to re-evaluate their future.
