New York Giants: 5 Players To Watch vs. New York Jets
Offensive Line
The offensive line was one of the areas of concern coming into the offseason. Things have not changed being a mere two weeks away from the regular season. The offensive line has done little to quell those concerns this preseason.
It doesn’t help that Justin Pugh has been injured, but the offensive line has not shown improvement this summer. The right side of John Jerry and Marshall Newhouse leaves much to be desired and an injury to the left side could decimate the offense. Ereck Flowers needs to show more consistency on Manning’s blindside and in the run game.
Pugh, along with Weston Richburg, as the only sure things along the offensive line right now for the Giants. They need to get this unit on the same page and start building some cohesion. If they do not improve, an offense that has the potential to be explosive could be slowed.
There isn’t much on the roster to push the current starting group unless the Giants like what they see from someone such as Bobby Hart. It wouldn’t be the worst thing for the Giants to bring in a veteran such as Jake Long to add some competition and experience to the group.
