Arguably the biggest scare for the Giants in their loss to the Dolphins was the knee injury suffered by Apple. In the draft this year, Apple was the Giants’ first-round pick. Many believed that the Giants reached for Apple, but they certainly needed some help in their secondary, even after a spending spree in the offseason.

Apple’s role with the Giants isn’t exactly certain yet. Originally, Apple was projected to be the starting slot cornerback for the Giants. However, a recent signing of cornerback Leon Hall might lead to Apple not having as big of a role in the defense this season.

After undergoing some tests on his knee earlier in the week, the news was all good for Apple. On Thursday, Apple was able to participate in positional drills and then made the trip with the team to Buffalo.

Apple hasn’t officially been ruled out, but it would be hard to imagine him playing against the Bills on Saturday night.
