Offensive Line

The Giants offense has a chance to be one of the best groups in the NFL. With Eli Manning leading the way and a plethora of weapons to spread the ball to, the offense is dangerous. But, there is only so much they can do if the offensive line does not protect and run block.

They may be the least recognizable players on the team, but the offensive line is arguably the most important. If they cannot give time to Manning or open holes for the running game even the most explosive skill position players will be stuck in neutral.

That is the biggest problem facing the Giants offense right now. They have two building blocks in Weston Richburg and Justin Pugh and someone they are high on in Ereck Flowers. But the right side leaves a lot to be desired with John Jerry and Marshall Newhouse.

The group got the job done on the Giants’ first drive against the Dolphins but need to put forth more consistency as the preseason goes on. The front office has not done much to change the unit, showing faith in the guys they already have in house.

The more they play together the more chemistry they can develop. This unit is imperative to the Giants success this season and will be worth keeping an eye on as the summer winds down. There are some veterans available as free agents, but this looks like the group that the Giants will run with as their starting unit.
