New York Knicks: NBA Offseason Power Rankings
No. 16: Utah Jazz
The Utah Jazz barely missed the playoffs in the previous season, but the improved roster will make a postseason appearance in 2017. Though he’s not a premier point guard, George Hill adds stability to the offense. Joe Johnson should have enough to knock down an occasional open shot.
Gordon Hayward will lead the charge behind an underrated duo at the power forward and center. Derrick Favors averaged a double-double or fell short one rebound throughout his six-year career. Rudy Gobert continues to develop into one of the best rim protectors in the game.
No. 15: Denver Nuggets
Here’s another surprise within the rankings. The Denver Nuggets surge into the top eight among playoff teams in the West. When viewing the roster, you’ll quickly notice it’s a deep group with veterans sprinkled among the budding talent.
The Nuggets have a strong projected frontcourt with Jusuf Nurkic and Nikola Jokic in the middle. Kenneth Faried, who could score 20 points and grab 20 rebounds on any given night, plays the 4-spot. Veterans Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler can spread the floor at small forward.
Despite poor shooting percentages, Emmanuel Mudiay exceeded expectations in his rookie year. Watch out for the Nuggets in the upcoming season.
