Winning Down the Middle Important for Offense

McAdoo glowingly spoke about how tight end Larry Donnell laid out his body to secure a catch down the middle. The Giants head coach said it’s important for this offense to attack the middle of the field in the upcoming season:

"Winning down the middle of the field is huge for this offense. It was nice to see Larry bounce back and make some plays."

Donnell suffered a serious neck injury during the previous year. It’s a telling sign that he’s laying it all on the line during practice. He’s going to battle Will Tye for the starting tight end position through camp.

However, based on McAdoo’s statement, both tight ends should see ample targets down the seam and middle of the field.

Quarterback Eli Manning has put together consecutive impressive seasons with lesser overall offensive talent. He could light up opposing defenses with a solid wide receiver trio and two receiving tight ends.
