No Major Concerns on Ereck Flowers Injury

Offensive tackle Ereck Flowers struggled with a minor lower body injury, per New York Daily News reporter Pat Leonard:

McAdoo dismissed the injury as a non-issue, which means more reps for a second-year pro looking to make great strides during the offseason. Eugene Monroe retired, and it’s now a foregone conclusion the Giants will look to improve the talent on the roster to strengthen the offensive line.

The Giants head coach also mentioned offensive lineman Bobby Hart as a participant in the training camp battle at right tackle.

After shredding 25 pounds during the offseason, Hart could push Marshall Newhouse for a starting spot. The Giants have expressed confidence in their offensive line, but the tackle positions cause major concern.

Flowers doesn’t have a competitor behind him, but Hart stands a good chance at overtaking the veteran for more snaps in the upcoming season. With a prolific passing attack, protecting the quarterback will be more important in 2016.
