New York Knicks: Eastern Conference Playoff Projections
Toronto Raptors: No. 2 (Atlantic Division Champions)
The Toronto Raptors lost defensive and rebound specialist Bismack Biyombo but re-signed shooting guard DeMar DeRozan and added forward Jared Sullinger.
Over the past few years, the Raptors have developed into a strong regular season team that loses steam in the playoffs.
Nonetheless, Kyle Lowry and DeRozan still form arguably the best backcourt in the East. The Washington Wizards may object with John Wall and Bradley Beal, but Toronto’s duo has fueled the team to the playoffs and into the conference finals.
Head coach Dwane Casey will attempt to push this team toward their limits to dethrone the Cavaliers, but they’re still one impact player short of a championship contending roster. If center Jonas Valanciunas improves on the defensive end, the Raptors will pose a tougher challenge to the defending champions.
At the moment, Toronto has enough talent to claim another Atlantic Division title and the No. 2 seed.
