Position: No. 2 Running Back

Projected Favorite: Zac Stacy

Yes, running back Zac Stacy has missed OTAs and mandatory minicamp as he recovers from a broken ankle. According to NJ.com reporter Darryl Slater, Stacy should be ready to participate in training camp.

The Jets signed running back Khiry Robinson in the offseason. He hopes to become the second ball-carrier to leave the New Orleans Saints and blossom with the Jets after Ivory. The fourth-year pro also missed offseason workouts and practices while recovering from an injury.

Despite a disappointing season, Stacy holds a slight advantage with his experience in the system. Furthermore, he’s been the featured running back as a rookie with the then-St. Louis Rams. Robinson hasn’t handled more than 80 carries in a single season.

Running back Bilal Powell will likely contribute on third downs as a receiving option. With a healthy body, he’s the default No. 2 tailback on the depth chart.

Matt Forte turned 30 at the end of the previous season. He’ll likely average 15 carries per game and yield the rest to Stacy. Robinson could become a goal-line option as the season progresses.
