One of the most intriguing options for the Jets would be a reunion with Michael Vick. In a dysfunctional 2014 season, Vick was on the Jets to provide them with a veteran backup for Smith. Two years later, and we find the Jets in a familiar situation.

When Smith struggled in 2014, Vick would take over as the starting quarterback, but also wasn’t enough to turn a poor team around. In 2014, Vick totaled a 1-2 record, 604 passing yards, three touchdown passes, and two interceptions.

After the new regime decided not to bring Vick back last season, he went on to be the backup for Ben Roethlisberger with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Roethlisberger might be one of the toughest players in the NFL, but he is also no stranger to having to miss games due to injuries.

Vick was able to start in three games for the Steelers, and he played pretty well despite the team limiting what he was able to do. In the three starts Vick made, the Steelers had a 2-1 record, and those two wins helped them reach the playoffs in 2015.

Vick might be 35-years-old, but he can certainly still provide a team with a solid option as a backup quarterback.
