New York Giants Will Win NFC East with Healthy WR Trio
Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles have completely changed their direction at cornerback. In the previous season, Nolan Carroll started 11 games. The previous regime selected Eric Rowe in the second round of the 2015 draft. Both cornerbacks took a backseat to newly signed free-agent acquisitions, Ron Brooks and Leodis McKelvin during practices, per Philly.com reporter Jeff McLane.
McKelvin and Brooks are familiar with Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz during their days with the Buffalo Bills. However, the two cornerbacks started a combined 10 games in one year under Schwartz in Buffalo.
The Eagles will need safety help to defend Beckham on one end, which leaves one-on-one situations for Shepard and Cruz. Both players have the tools to work the slot or perimeter en route to the end zone.
Philadelphia will field one of the worst perimeter defenses in the league. The Giants should light up the scoreboard in a track meet against the Eagles.
