2. Evan Longoria

For the love of St. Pete, which is the actual home of the Rays, would this club please do their franchise player a favor and trade him to a contender so he can once again sniff the postseason! Sitting in dead-last in the ultra-competitive AL East, the Rays aren’t going anywhere, anytime soon.

Watching this club trade stars like David Price, James Shields, and Wil Myers year after year, has got to be disheartening. Luckily, Longoria has not let that affect him in 2016, hitting .279 with 15 long balls and 37 RBI.

At 30-years-old, Longoria is in the midst of his professional prime, so he could cost the Mets a mixed bag of Zack Wheeler, Logan Verrett, and/or Michael Conforto. I do my best to trade them two of the three but wouldn’t risk losing an impact all-star because of the infamous “potential” label.

Would the Mets have the nerve to pull off such a deal, I don’t know; wasn’t this the same organization that once traded a young stud lefty by the name of Scott Kazmir for Victor Zambrano?
