Kent Bazemore

Of the players on this list, Kent Bazemore is arguably the most realistic target. He would fill a need at shooting guard, and also has the ability to move over to small forward depending on the type of lineup the Knicks are using. That versatility is always useful, and something the Knicks could put to good use.

Bazemore got some run off the bench for the Atlanta Hawks during the 2014-15 season, but got his first real shot this past season. He made the most of it, and will be heading into free agency with some momentum. Bazemore put up career highs across the board, averaging 11.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game as a do-it-all wingman. He played a majority of his minutes at small forward, 79 percent this past season, but has experience at shooting guard as well.

Shooting guard is where he would play with the Knicks, as his defensive prowess on the perimeter is something the Knicks desperately need. He stepped up the defense in the postseason when it matters most, as the player he defended shot 4.7 percent lower than their shooting percentage with Bazemore defending them.

Bazemore routinely draws the defensive assignment against the best player on the opposing team, and never backs down no matter who it is against. Here is Bazemore going at it against LeBron James last postseason.

Bazemore would be an excellent addition to a Knicks team, as what he brings to the table are things they need. He plays to his strengths and would fit into the Knicks offense as a player that can score at the rim or knock down a three-pointer. The Knicks need an upgrade in their backcourt and Bazemore would present that.
