Brooklyn Nets: 5 Point Guard Options This Summer
Seth Curry
Seth Curry hasn’t been given very many chances in the NBA yet, as he has been looked at as little more than Stephen Curry’s brother. But, with the Sacramento Kings, he received a shot once their season was over and made the most of it.
Once the Kings were eliminated from the postseason, George Karl decided to give minutes to some players at the end of the bench and one of those players were Curry. He stepped up with the increased minutes, as he started nine of the last 11 games of the season.
Curry averaged 16.4 points, 5.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 0.9 steals per game in April, playing in seven games and averaging 32.4 minutes per game. Like anyone with the last name Curry, Seth was no different with his shooting ability, knocking down 45.9 percent overall of his shots in that stretch, connecting on 48.9 percent from deep and 87.5 percent from the foul line.
Curry is expected to opt-out of his contract this summer and become a restricted free agent, turning down $1.05 from the Kings. If he hits the open market as expected, he will be an interesting option to watch. Teams will probably be hesitant to hand him the keys to their team, as he is still rather unproven, but he should land a spot that will give him consistent minutes.
While the sample size was small with the Kings, Curry has earned a chance to show that his performance wasn’t a fluke. There aren’t many teams that will be willing to hand minutes to a player as unproven as Curry, but with the Nets not being close to contending yet, the two could make a perfect match.

If Curry wants a legitimate shot to earn playing time, the Nets may offer the best chance. This could be a great situation for both Curry and the Nets, as they both could really help each other out next season.
