Brooklyn Nets: 5 Point Guard Options This Summer
Raymond Felton
Raymond Felton has experience playing in New York, as he was a member of the Knicks on two separate occasions. He knows what it takes to play in New York, and wouldn’t be phased by the media pressure that follows.
Felton had a solid season with the Dallas Mavericks this season, playing in 80 games and starting 31 of them. He averaged 9.5 points, 3.6 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 27.4 minutes per game, providing solid production for the Mavericks. He really stepped his game up in the postseason when the Mavericks were ravaged by injury and lacking many go-to players.
Felton responded by playing 34.4 minutes per game, averaging 15 points, 4.6 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. Felton couldn’t have picked a better time to increase his production, as he is now heading into unrestricted free agency on the heels of an outstanding postseason.
Felton should be able to parlay that performance into a solid contract this offseason, and the Nets are one of the teams with an opening at point guard that could use him. He should be on their radar as a stopgate solution.
