The New York Islanders will look to put away the Florida Panthers in Game 6 and advance to the second round. Here is all the information you need to watch the game.

The New York Islanders were able to pick up a 2-1 victory in double overtime over the Florida Panthers in Game 5 to take control with a 3-2 series lead. The series will now head back to the Barclays Center where the Islanders will look to put away the Panthers and move into the second round for the first time since the 1992-93 season.

Game 5 was a war of attrition between the Islanders and Panthers, as they played 96 minutes of hockey. That means there will probably be some tired legs when the two teams take the ice tonight, but being in front of their home crowd should give the Islanders that little extra amount of motivation that a team needs to get the job done.

The youngsters for the Islanders have been showing up all series, and the same happened again in Game 5. Defenseman Ryan Pulock was the hero in Game 3, and added another point in the Game 4 loss. But, he was sidelined for Game 5 with an undisclosed injury, but another youngster was there to pick up the slack in Alan Quine.

Quine played in only two games during the regular season, but has seen time in all five playoff games thus far. The Islanders’ 23-year old rookie center took advantage of the opportunity placed in front of him and quickly became a household name as he scored the power play in the second overtime to get the Islanders the big win.

More from Empire Writes Back

In a game such as the one played in Game 5, a lot of credit needs to go to the goalies. Both Thomas Greiss and Roberto Luongo were outstanding, as they both stood on their head throughout the game. Both were peppered with a ton of shots, as Greiss stopped 47 of the 48 attempts he faced, while Luongo stopped 40 of 42 shots.

Both players will be counted on once again as the Panthers will look to stave off elimination and the Islanders will look to put away the series and not have to go back to Florida for a third time in the series. Will the Islanders be able to protect their home ice and avoid going into a series deciding Game 7 on Tuesday night?

We will have to watch Game 6 and find out. Not sure how or where to watch the game? Don’t worry, we have you covered with all the information that you need to tune in and enjoy Game 6 between the Islanders and Panthers tonight.
