Jose Calderon

Calderon had a better second season with the Knicks than his first one, but he still left many people frustrated with his play. He once again ended the season injured, missing the final six games of the season, which some people would say was a blessing as younger players were given a chance to play.

Calderon is a consummate professional, but his days of being a useful starting point guard are well behind him. Once again he struggled to stay in front of opposing guards, as the Knicks were dominated at the point of attack on a nightly basis. He was relatively healthy throughout the season though, playing in 72 games after appearing in only 42 his first season with the team.

But, he did leave much to be desired. He averaged a modest 7.6 points and 4.1 assists per game, as his lack of aggression was frustrating to watch. He was still a knock down shooter, making 41.4 percent of his three-point shots; he just did not attempt as many shots as you would like to see. His inability to break down defenses off the dribble and attack the paint also limited the Knicks offense when he was on the court.

There is a very real chance that Calderon is not on the roster this upcoming season, as the Knicks will once again try and move the 34-year old point guard.
