The New York Knicks had a tough go at it during the 2015-16 season, and it shows in some of the player’s and decision makers grades for the season.

The New York Knicks wrapped up yet another disappointing season last week with a loss to the Indiana Pacers. That loss put the Knicks final record for the season at 32-50. It was an improvement over the franchise worst 17-65 season from 2014-15, but it still left much to be desired.

The Knicks were 22-22 after back-to-back overtime victories over the Utah Jazz and Philadelphia 76ers. They were flying high and playing solid basketball, but things quickly fell apart soon after. The Knicks would lose 11 of their next 12 games as Carmelo Anthony sprained his ankle accidently stepping on a referee and his knee began giving him problems.

It was tough sledding for the Knicks the rest of the way, as they didn’t win back-to-back games again until a home-and-home, back-to-back sweep of the Chicago Bulls March 23rd and 24th. They finished the season 10-28, which included the firing of Derek Fisher, with Kurt Rambis being named interim head coach.

It was a tumultuous season for the Knicks, but there were some positives. The team did improve by 15 wins over the previous season, and they now have a couple of legitimate building blocks and cornerstone pieces to begin building upon. One of those pieces is Kristaps Porzingis, who had a strong rookie season and gives Knicks’ fans some hope for the future.

While the final win-loss record is unsightly once again, there were some things that were positive for the Knicks this season. Unfortunately, those positives were outnumbered by negatives and they quickly began piling up after the Knicks reached the .500 mark on January 20th and never got close to it again.

Here at Empire Writes Back we will take a look back at the Knicks’ 2015-16 season and hand out some grades to players, coaches and team personnel. Who received the highest grade for the Knicks this season? Who received the lowest?
