The New York Giants need to upgrade at the linebacker position, and the perfect fit for them would be to draft Myles Jack.

Jack is widely regarded as the best linebacker in the NFL draft this season, despite missing almost all of the 2015 season with a knee injury. Jack made the decision to prepare for the NFL Draft last season, as he withdrew from school to rehab. The move looks like it has paid off for Jack, as he is expected to be a Top-5 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft with a bunch of teams that have an interest in him.

One of those teams are interested in him is the Giants. For years, the Giants have had a poor linebacking corps, and even with a spending spree this offseason, that position is still rather weak.

Jack recently made a visit to New York and is in love with the greatest city in the world.

“I could see myself in this city,” Jack said while making a promotional appearance to James Kratch of NJ.com. “I think I have a personality that fits this city. It’s an immediate city – things happen fast in this city – and it has high expectations. I think I fit the bill for that.”

“I love it,” he said to Kratch. “When we were driving around, I just liked the whole mentality. I think it’s really cool, I think it’s unique.”

Like most draft prospects, Jack’s name has been mentioned in all sorts of rumors, and that is just something that comes with the process.

“You’ve got friends, family shooting you [rumors], you turn on ESPN and across the little ticker you see your name,” he said to Kratch. “It’s something you really can’t hide from, you’ve just got to accept it. But at the end of the day, anything can happen.”

It has been awhile since Jack was on the field, and the talented linebacker is anxious to get back out there as an NFL player this time.

“All of that kind of pent up (energy) inside of me,” Jack said to Kratch, “it’s going to come out when I get to play.”

If the Giants are interested in Jack like he is in New York, they will have to trade up in the NFL Draft. Adding a linebacker with the skill set of Jack would be a huge upgrade to the second level of the Giants’ defense, which still needs to be improved after free agency.

Jack is a perfect fit on paper for the Giants, who are need of an impact player at the linebacker position. The price to move might be significant for the Giants given what the Tennessee Titans just received for the first overall pick in the draft, but Jack certainly appears to be worth it.
