New York Giants 2016 Schedule Released
We know who the New York Giants will be facing off with this season, and now we know when those games will occur as the NFL released it’s 2016 regular season schedule tonight.
The New York Giants have had a whirlwind of an offseason. They have a new head coach in Ben McAdoo, who is replacing Tom Coughlin as the head man on the sideline after being his offensive coordinator the last two seasons. In addition to a new-look coaching staff, the Giants have a revamped defense they are hoping can get things back on track after a disastrous 2015 season.
In addition to re-signing Jason Pierre-Paul, the Giants loaded up on the defensive line with mega contracts to defensive end Olivier Vernon, formally of the Miami Dolphins, and defensive tackle Damon Harrison, formally of the New York Jets. In addition to the defensive line additions, the Giants also landed an upgrade at cornerback, signing Janoris Jenkins away from the St. Louis Rams.
In addition to the big time signings, the Giants also added some depth on their roster. Keenan Robinson and Kelvin Sheppard were signed at linebacker, joining the re-signed Jasper Brinkley as reinforcements at the second level. The Giants also signed running back Bobby Rainey, who can help in the return game and gives the Giants a big play threat out of the backfield. In addition to Rainey, the Giants also added fullback Will Johnson, as the plan is to give last season’s fullback Nikita Whitlock more reps along the defensive line.

Offensive line is also an issue for the Giants, and they added some depth there in Ryan Seymour and Dillon Farrell. Neither player will be a huge upgrade, but depth signings are always solid for a team that was ravaged by injuries last season.
The Giants still have some work to do on the roster, as they could use help at wide receiver, tight end and the offensive line. Safety also could be addressed, as the Giants could use the NFL Draft to fill in the remaining holes. The offseason was solid, as the Giants finally have some building blocks defensively to accompany the offensive ones they have in Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr.
Last week we saw who the Giants offensive duo would be showing off their talents against in the preseason. Tonight, the NFL released the regular season schedules. Check out which defenses will have the task of slowing down Manning and Beckham Jr. during the regular season, and who will have to slow down the Giants new look defensive in which week of the season here:
