The summer of 2010 was one that forever changed the NBA, as teams were positioning themselves for years to try and get LeBron James to come to their city. The Knicks were one of those teams that went all-in on trying to get James, but he instead joined forces with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami. Many teams were significantly affected by James’ decision, and the Knicks were one of them.

The Knicks didn’t come up empty handed in that offseason, as they were able to sign Amar’e Stoudemire to help try and turn the franchise around. In his first season with the Knicks, Stoudemire was simply fantastic, averaging 25.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game, and was an MVP candidate.

Sadly for the Knicks and Stoudemire, the reason he was let go by the Phoenix Suns became a problem in New York, as he was frequently injured after his great first season with the Knicks. Stoudemire tried his best to stay healthy for the Knicks, but he was a role player by the time he finished his career in New York.

Stoudemire was a fan-favorite in New York despite being often injured, as he was a big part in the Knicks making the playoffs for a few seasons with him and Carmelo Anthony.
