The Mets’ top-rated prospect heading into the 2016 season has already had some big league, playoff, and World Series experience.

Steven Matz made six starts during the regular season posting a 4-0 record with a 2.27 ERA and his success helped him find his way onto the team’s postseason roster, eventually starting a game in the 2015 World Series.

It’s more then clear that he’s major league ready, but how can the Mets manage his arm for continued success? Matz has the stuff to be a front-line starting pitcher on any other rotation, but with an excess of young pitching, Matz might have to wait his turn, which is really no issue.

Injuries have been an issue in the past, however. New York could choose to limit his workload in 2016, like they did with Matt Harvey in 2015. Talent wise, Matz is one of the best pitchers this organization has to offer.
