Defensive Effort Picked Up

Things did not look good for the Knicks in the early going. Derek Fisher called a 20 second timeout 1:16 into the game because he did not like the effort that they started the game off with. That didn’t seem to help much, as the Bucks opened the game up on a 10-2 run. They also made their first six shots of the game, and started the game 8-of-11.

That was finally enough to get the Knicks going, as they turned up the defensive effort after that. The Bucks would finish the game shooting 40 percent (32-of-80), as they shot 34.7 percent (24-69) the rest of the game. Jabari Parker and Greg Monroe were the only Bucks that could get anything going tonight.

Parker scored 14 on 7-of-12 from the field, while Monroe led the way with 28 on 11-of-16 from the field. Monroe also added 10 rebounds for his 18th double-double of the season. Monroe had his way with the Knicks all season, sticking it to the team he spurned during free agency last summer.

Middleton was able to score an inefficient 20 points, while rookie Rashad Vaughn was the only other Buck in double figures with 10 off the bench. The Bucks as a team struggled to score tonight, as they made only 3-of-13 from deep as well for a poor 23.1 percent.
